about

Originally released on CD-R to bemused high schoolers in spring 2003, 'To the Edge and Back' represented everything possible if you:

1. Had an orchestra of midi instruments and an SM-77 you could plug into the back of your computer
2. Loved Pink Floyd's the Wall
3. Grew up Catholic in New England

It's also worth noting that the music is primarily shaped by having no courage to use a credit card on the internet (yet) and operating under the belief I only had 30 days to record and release a full length album... because that's how long the free Mp3 encorder trial on my parents' computer lasted.

Subtracting some truly uncomely contributions to the original 2003 sequence, the remains show a portrait of a young, 15-16 year old songwriter, working with what they have to make rock and roll dreams come true ... and without having any waking clue what "DIY" and "indie" music were.

In accordance with the charitable ethos of the original release, proceeds from this anniversary set will go to Brooklyn Public Defender.
